The Heart Pine School admissions coordinator serves as a public face for the school, an anchor for communicating Waldorf pedagogy and philosophy at the school, and represents Heart Pine School’s vision and mission to the general public. The admissions coordinator answers to the board, interacts with potential families, parents, faculty, staff and students to help coordinate admissions and enrollment activities, and is a presence at festivals and outreach events.
The position is hourly, 10 hours a week. It will include at least one day in office during school hours, to be scheduled to coordinate with administrative staff schedule, and occasional weekend or evening hours (for child assessments or open houses). The position is a 12-month appointment. This position can be combined with other part-time positions, such as teaching assistant, substitute, or specialty teaching, if mutually agreeable.
Heart Pine School seeks a warm, approachable, dynamic person with excellent communication skills to reach and educate potential families about Waldorf education. The candidate must be organized, able to manage multiple tasks, competent with MS Office software, and a self-starter. Knowledge of Waldorf curriculum and educational philosophy preferred.
Threefold focus of position:
1. Admissions/Enrollment: Lead potential families through the steps of admissions and enrollment process, including educating and informing families about the specifics and specialties of what a Waldorf education at Heart Pine offers.
2. Outreach/recruiting: Work proactively to attract and contact families of children both from Morning Meadow Kindergarten and Preschool rising students, existing enrolled families, and the greater community who have an interest in Heart Pine School/Waldorf education. Maintain database of interested and enrolled families, present and recent past. Help to develop outreach and recruiting plan and materials.
3. Retention: Follow up on enrolled children to ascertain appropriate placement. Coordinate annual re-enrollment process.
